We are looking for a Senior Estimator for our operations in Papua New Guinea. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for accurate bid preparation, presentation, and follow-up of tenders.
The key responsibilities for this role will include but not limited to:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships
- Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates, including cost analysis
- Preparation and development of construction practices, programs, and submission documentation
- Deliver detailed tenders, provide support for pre-contracts and delivery
- Develop estimates using site productivity rates
- Construction of tender plans
- Identify the need for additional information or clarification through RFIs to ensure complete tender documentations
- Review designs and engineering specifications for cost effectiveness
- Review and validate subcontractor pricing across all service disciplines
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction, or a building related qualification or trade with additional experience to equate to degree
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the construction industry
- Construction Safety Induction (white) card
- Excellent eye for detail, including the ability to read construction drawings to enable accurate pricing.
- Well-developed ability to present and participate with confidence in internal and external meetings.
- Solid knowledge of tendering, building standards, estimating procedures and the competitive market.
- A thorough understanding of the building process as well as a proven ability to identify and evaluate construction risk.
